SwissSkills was held in Bern from September 7 to 11. This was an event in which the impressive performances of some of the highly talented young professionals amazed spectators – and in which we were able to play our part in ensuring that they can continue to do exceptional work.

On Saturday, May 14, 2022, the time had finally come; after a long period of planning and almost seven months of construction, the pump track at Forum Sumiswald could finally be opened. The hearts of all bike enthusiasts were beating faster when the representatives of the special interest group Pumptrack Sumiswald, Mobiliar-Versicherung and the Sumiswald municipal council opened the track! The construction was made possible by various sponsors. We at PB Swiss Tools also financially supported the construction of the pump track and immediately equipped it with the necessary emergency bike repair kit.

We asked the meister-testen.de professional evaluation portal to have the PB 212 LH RB – RainBow L-wrench, long, with ball point, set in a practical plastic holder from PB Swiss Tools reviewed and evaluated by 50 tradespersons as regards its suitability for use in their day-to-day work. Fascinated by this innovative vision, PB Swiss Tools is supporting the highly motivated Swiss team of ETH Zurich students by providing precision tools. Thanks to excellent technological and manual skills, the Swissloop Pod raced to second place in the last international Hyperloop Pod Competition. This year's team has now showcased the Pod 2020 with decisive optimizations at the Switzerland Innovation Park.

Their names are Meret, Noël and Felix. Together, the three young Basel locals are fizzing with ideas about sharing. After over a year of planning and thanks to an extremely successful crowdfunding project, the initiators have now been able to bring their project to life: A library of things including a whole host of tools and equipment. Even PB Swiss Tools was impressed by the initiative and donated a number of useful tool kits to the cause without a second thought.

For roughly 20 years, Martin Leuenberger has been working for PB Swiss Tools. The trained electrician is a Swiss certified foreman in plant and apparatus engineering and divisional manager for maintenance, environment and occupational safety and health. He leads a team of 13 employees and also supervises the automation engineer apprentices. We met him for the interview and talked with him about the new heat pump – and about which type of importance sustainability occupies in the company.
