We are very happy about our nomination for the "Berner Sozialstern 2017 (Bern Social Star 2017)" and our place among the three finalists. Social commitment has been part of our corporate culture for many years - and not only the persons who are trying to restart their working life at our company are benefiting from it: social commitment also has a positive effect on the company.
Last Friday, the "Berner Sozialstern 2017" - for which 20 companies were nominated - was awarded in the city hall in Bern. The BEWO, the protected workshop and cooperative in Oberburg, suggested it to us - and we were among the three finalists. The prize was won by the Emmental company Blaser Swisslube, a company from the region, and of course we are pleased as well.
Five to ten reintegrations per year at PB Swiss Tools
Each year, by awarding the Sozialstern, the University Psychiatric Services (UPD) in Bern distinguishes companies that are exceptionally committed to the professional integration of people with mental disabilities. At PB Swiss Tools, we have been doing this for ten years, offering five to ten attempts for work reintegration each year.
This not only benefits the affected people, whom we see as being very motivated and determined to seize their opportunity. This commitment also has a positive effect on our operations and our employees because it creates an inspiring and appreciative dynamic.

We encourage other companies to engage in the integration of persons with physical and mental disabilities into the mainstream labor market. Accordingly, we are happy when our example sets a precedent - and we like to show interested companies how work trials or reintegration are handled at PB Swiss Tools, in day-to-day work and in the administration.
